If you would like to join, you would be very welcome. Ask Angela or Toni for more details or just turn up at the next meeting on 1st September 2026

Members have opportunities to research and present a broad range of topics, light-hearted to serious.

We are a small friendly group. Two members give a talk on a topic of their own choice at each meeting.

We have recently had an eclectic mixture of talks covering people, places, societies, buildings and more.

The topic of each talk is kept as a surprise, to the rest of the group, until the meeting.

Recent Topics have included:-

  • South Pembrokeshire
  • The Lunar Society
  • A E Houseman - the poet
  • Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral (nicknamed Paddy's Wigwam by the locals)
  • The Herschal family of astronomers
  • Modern Slavery
  • Graeco-Persian wars
  • The Moon
  • The Prince of Wales
  • Studley Castle
  • The History of Clowns
